Great Plains Vintage Motocross classes

Vintage 125

1974 and earlier…with some 1975 exceptions including the 1975 Yamaha YZ 125 and the 1975 Honda CR 125.

Vintage 250

 1974 and earlier. 1975 Honda CR 250 and 1975 Suzuki TM 250 are also legal.

Vintage Open

Any bike, larger than 250cc, 1974 and earlier

Post Vintage 125

 Generally 1975-1980. Yamaha monoshocks are allowed in this class. Husqvarna 125’s through 1983 are also legal. Twin shocks (or monoshock), but no liquid-cooled machines, nor motorcycles equipped with disc brakes.

 Post Vintage 250

 Generally 1975-1981. Yamaha monoshocks are allowed in this class. Husqvarna 250’s through 1983 are also legal. Twin shocks (or monoshock), but no liquid-cooled machines, nor motorcycles equipped with disc brakes.

Post Vintage Open

 Generally 1975-1981. Any motorcycle larger than 250cc. Yamaha monoshocks are allowed in this class. Husqvarna 430’s and 500’s through 1983 are also legal. Twin shocks (or monoshock), but no liquid-cooled machines, nor motorcycles equipped with disc brakes.

 Evo 125 

Generally 1982-1999. Any 125 that is liquid-cooled and/or fitted with a single rear shock and/or disc brakes.

Evo 250

 Generally 1982-1999. Any 250 that is liquid-cooled and/or fitted with a single rear shock and/or disc brakes.

Evo Open

 Generally 1982-1999. Any motorcycle larger than 250cc that is liquid-cooled and/or fitted with a single rear shock and/or disc brakes.

Beginner Evo and Modern

 All beginners, any Evo or Modern motorcycle (must be 125cc or larger)

Dual Sport

Street-legal motorcycles, like Kawasaki KLR’s, Suzuki DRZ’s, etc. We will allow you to remove items like turn signals and the like.

Enduro

All non street-legal enduro models are allowed.

Women

Self-explanatory.  At this point, we will allow vintage, post-vintage and modern bikes in this class.  Hopefully, we will see it grow and we can offer multiple classes.

Pit Bike

Four-stroke bikes up to 100 cc’s are allowed…front tire no larger than 19”. Example: Honda XL, SL, CRF, XR 100’s, Yamaha TTR 90.

Four-stroke bikes up to 125cc are allowed…front tire no larger than 17”. Example: most Chinese-built mini’s, Kawasaki KLX 110, Suzuki DRZ 110.

Two stroke bikes up to 90 cc’s…must be air-cooled. Liquid-cooled bikes are not allowed.

Run What Ya Brung

Another informal group.  Limited to anything that cannot run in the above classes.  If you have an old Suzuki TS or Yamaha DT, this is the class for you!

Open Outlaw

All bikes 125cc or larger (must have 21″ front wheel).

Notes: There will always be exceptions and we will do our best to make a fair ruling on which class your motorcycle belongs.  Some classes will feature “A” or “B” skill level.

Helmets, boots and three number plates are required!   Entry fees are $35 for first class and $30 for your second class.  Classes, race order and other details are subject to change at the discretion of the GPVMX board.
